The purpose of this Fund shall be to support the efforts of the Donors to establish a fund that will build connections within and between communities by encouraging people to tell and listen to personal stories. Our company of trained professional actors and musicians creates a space in which any story can be heard. Stories are then ‘replayed’ using drama, music, movement and voice: a ritual that is designed to create understanding and empathy. Our performances and workshops have this intent: bringing people together through re-enacting and witnessing personal experiences. Maryland Playback Theatre serves individuals, groups and communities of all kinds, but can be especially helpful where there is a shared history of hope, struggle, redemption or commitment.
