Williams Family Fund - Community of Compassion

THE COMMUNITY OF COMPASSION FUND

The purpose of The Community of Compassion Fund shall be to provide financial assistance to families in Carroll County, Maryland who are dealing with the catastrophic illness or injury of a family member, as the result of disease; accident; fire; or man-made or natural disaster. Such payments may include, but are not limited to, payments of uninsured medical expenses, cost of daily living for the family -- including housing and transportation, as well as convalescent and rehabilitation care for the patient.

In 2014, their daughter Haley was in a serious car accident that required longterm hospitalization and continuing medical follow up and physical therapy. Nancy suffers from diabetes and another debilitating condition called Peripheral Neuropathy which causes severe nerve pain and she has been unable to work for some time. Gary worked at Springfield Hospital for 30 years until he was diagnosed last year with cancer. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy treatment and the family was hopeful that it would be successful. Unfortunately the cancer has returned and Gary is now once again fighting for his life. The family has been struggling to stay afloat and is in imminent danger of losing their home in the middle of battling these ongoing multiple health crises. Nancy and Gary have both grown up in Eldersburg, attended school here and raised their daughter Haley and son Cody here. They have both been classmates and neighbors of mine. They are good people in desperate need of some good will. So lets please pull together as a community and do what we can for them in their time of need.
