The purpose of the Makenzee Christian George Memorial Scholarship is to honor her vivacious life by providing scholarship(s) for all Carroll County Public High School graduating senior(s) in Carroll County, Maryland who have been members of their schools Girls Varsity Softball Team for at least two years. Makenzee died on January 3, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident. She is remembered by her class and teammates as a vibrant young lady who could make you happy with just her smile. Commitment to community and team work, in the classroom and on the ballfield, were very important to Makenzee. This scholarship will be awarded to students who exude the same work ethic and understanding of the impact community service and team sports have on the formation of character. Makenzee was studying nursing at the Carroll County Career and Tech Center at the time of her death and was also a member of the Maryland Army National Guard assigned to the 200th MP Company in Catonsville with plans to become a Combat Medic. Softball was her passion as she played for the Jaycees, Charles Carroll, North Carroll Hot Shots and received her varsity softball letter in her Freshman year at Winters Mill High School. She is dearly missed by her family, friends, and the entire Westminster Community who were touched by her life. |
