Online Scholarship Application
2022 Scholarship Season is now open. The Community Foundation of Carroll County supports more than 65 academic, sports, special circumstances, and 4-H scholarships. The common application is an easy way for students to apply once and see all the scholarship opportunities they are eligible for (deadline May 1, 2022). 4-H club participants can apply separately on a specific common application (deadline July 1, 2022). The purpose of the Adam Nathaniel Pope Courage Scholarship is to establish and perpetuate a memorial to the strength of character, courage, and perseverance demonstrated throughout his life by Adam Nathaniel Pope, a 2008 graduate of Winters Mill High School. The Fund will award a financial scholarship annually to a recipient meeting the scholarship criteria. The scholarship will be based on character, not not academic performance. The award will be paid directly to any form of educational institution at which the recipient matriculates within 24 months after graduation from Winters Mill High School. Nominations: Nominations must be in writing and be between 250--500 words in length. Candidates may nominate themselves, or nominations may be made and submitted by a person other than the nominee, such as a WMHS teacher, guidance counselor, coach, or other student, advisor or staff member. The money shall be transmitted by the Community Foundation of Carroll County directly to the desired college or university and applied directly to the student's tuition and books. The award will be split between semesters. The monies shall not be remitted to the FUND winner. |
